Many in our Christian Community appreciate the form and order of an Anglican Prayer Book Service. At St Stephens Mittagong this is the form of liturgy followed at our 8am service each Sunday, led by robed clergy. We use the Australian Prayer Book which was first introduced in 1978 and has gained great popularity amongst a cross section of age groups in our congregation.
The service allows for personal reflection and participation as well as the opportunity for the Bible to be read and taught. We sing many of the well known hymns which are accompanied by our historic pipe organ. The congregation is friendly and hospitable and share 'a cup of tea' after the service.
