Mittagong Anglican Church is a group of people living for Jesus and sharing his good news with Mittagong and beyond!
We meet mainly at St. Stephens Mittagong, but we also hold groups at our second site at St. Paul's, Colo Vale and in people's homes in the area.
We have many different services and ministries, for men and women, toddlers and grandparents- for everyone, no matter who you are. You're most welcome to come along!
As a church (a group of people under Jesus), we aim to:
Know Christ (See John 5:24)
Grow In Christ (See Colossians 2:6-7)
and Show Christ To The World. (See Matthew 28:28-20)
What We Believe
What we believe as a church is summarised succinctly in the Apostle's creed:
We believe in God, the Father almighty,Creator of heaven and earth,
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father; from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy apostolic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
We are part of the Anglican Diocese of Sydney, and are reformed evangelical, with the bible as our authority.
Why is it called "St. Stephen's?"
Our main centre is named St. Stephen's after a man who the bible tells us was "a man full of God’s grace and power", who preached Jesus' death and resurrection so boldly that he was killed for his faith. Like Stephen, we aim to live for Jesus in everything, and never be ashamed to proclaim his name. For more information on Stephen, read Acts 6 and 7.
