Richard Mills

Richard Mills

Richard Mills has been the Senior Minister at Mittagong Anglican Church since September 2004. Richard met his wife Marge at Moore College where they were both studying for the Bachelor of Theology degree and were in the same year.

They completed this degree and were married at the end of their 3rd year in 1990, and continued studying, Richard for the Diploma of Arts (Theology) and Marge for a Diploma of Ministry. In 1992 they moved to South Granville and lived there for two and a half years where Richard was the Assistant Minister of Merrylands parish with also the responsibility for overseeing the branch church at South Granville. Their eldest child Jonathan was born there in 1993. During 1994 they moved on to Campbelltown parish, where Richard was the Assistant Minister, ran the branch church at Airds, and was part-time University chaplain at UWS Macarthur. Their second child Samuel was born in 1994.

After three and a half years at Campbelltown, Richard was offered the position at West Ryde Anglican Church, where he was the Senior Minister for seven years, from 1997 to 2004. Their youngest child Lucy was born during this time in 1999. Richard completed his Master of Arts (Theology) part-time during this time, studying at Morling College and other colleges.

Richard was born in Sydney in 1960 and then grew up in Canberra and Melbourne before coming back to Sydney when he was 16. Before entering Moore College he worked in the office supply industry. He is passionate about proclaiming the gospel in relevant ways and encouraging people in their Christian faith. He is keen to support, empower and equip people in the church for ministry. Interests include cycling, reading, watching sport, movies, and chocolate.
